Hemp cultivation regulations in the United States

Hemp cultivation is currently regulated by the US federal government. The 2018 Farm Bill removed hemp from the Controlled Substances Act, making it legal to grow hemp nationwide under certain circumstances.

There are still some restrictions on hemp cultivation in the United States. For example, growers must obtain a license from their state department of agriculture in order to cultivate hemp. States also have the authority to create their own regulations around hemp cultivation.

Hemp cultivation regulations in Europe

Europe has a long history of hemp cultivation, dating back to the days of the Roman Empire. In more recent times, industrial hemp was grown extensively in Eastern Europe for use in the textile and paper industries. However, production largely came to a halt following the collapse of the Soviet Union in the early 1990s.

Since then, there has been a gradual revival of the hemp industry in Europe, with several countries now producing significant quantities of hemp for use in a variety of applications. The European Union (EU) has also taken steps to encourage hemp production, by passing laws and regulations that make it easier for farmers to grow hemp and by funding research into new uses for the crop.
